I don't think ANYONE is a fan of tedium and drudgery, thing is I AM A FAN OF >WORDS< and we still need to build a viable "working vocabulary" to assist our understanding of "prevailing conditions" and the like . Brilliant Generals have stated emphatically that 'one must know his Enemy BETTER-THAN one's own self' . Toward THAT end is this definition of >Egoism< :
" 1 The tendency to be self -centered, or to consider ONLY oneself and one's own interests : selfishness
2 egotism; conceit
3 ETHICS the doctrine that self-interest is the proper goal of all human actions ; opposed to Altruism " .
We need to e-x-p-a-n-d Egoism to include and encompass NATIONAL Consciousness --we can do so because of "The Body Politic", a national ONE "body" which has a ONE "mind" -- a something I have elsewhere tagged as The Collective Conscious ---> a bastardization of Jung's "Collective Unconscious". We can safely input that trump's >mind< is, in hideous FACT, the mind of America .
