Some of us may enter the Realm of Childhood Studies unprotected because we consider ourselves 'normal' ; others, like me, [of my ilk], may be susceptible to dread, bitterness and remorse . It is imperative to fully appreciate that the Study of Children's Literature, is a Journey into one's own rearing and as such, an actual Investigation into the parenting skills or lack thereof of one's own . As I have stated in the Before Times, we ARE our Parents, unless and until we confront our Rearing, [up-bringing] , and 'become' our 'Own Persons' .
