My Generation had a "skin" "in the Game".  We were being conscripted to fight a War No One Had Declared, a War against Communism, manifested in Vietnam, a rice paddy Jungle of barely Civilized FARMERS, whose Battle Operative was a Chinese Government hell-bent on expanding their Empire. 

Stalin had scared the fuck out of every normal Human.  After the Holocaust No One figured that Ethnic Cleansing would Once Again occur to stricken and Horrify the World with such Inhuman Atrocity.  Yet .......

And then there was Nikita Khrushchev taking off his shoe and banging on his U.N. desk shouting,
"WE WILL BURY YOU !!!"
